Le Caviste, A Late but Enthusiastic Arrival

Are food recommendations interesting? What’s the best thing you’ve eaten lately—homemade, professionally made, or otherwise?
We finally made it to Le Caviste, a wine bar in downtown Seattle. Le Caviste serves French wines and excellent charcuterie that reminded me how much I enjoy skipping dinner when there’s good bread and cheese around. After meeting the owner (he works at the bar regularly unless he’s traveling, sourcing wines) and learning Le Caviste has been open for years, my husband and I recognized how late we are to the party. The place was packed and it’s easy to see why.
Le Caviste’s menu is simple and delicious and the staff are knowledgeable and approachable when offering recommendations. The atmosphere is warm, the opposite of fussy. The kind of place you can wander into without a reservation and feel like you made a good decision.
We tried a few cheeses, a few wines, and eyed the dinner menu for our next visit. We look forward to it.
